Together Again

For six weeks our access to Angelcake's ashes were blocked by the placement of the Christmas tree in front of its shelf.  Now - finally - she and GusGus are reunited, as they should be.

RIP

Note: Originally GusGus was in the white urn, Angelcakes in the brown. That's what you see here. That made no sense, given Angelcakes was pure white and Gus a common mackerel tabby. So after this picture was taken at Lisa's wise direction, I switched their urn, which now better identify with the remains they hold.

Not the Ideal Setting But . . .

He shouldn't be on the table, much less resting comfortably on it.   But he was awfully cute.

Gussy has his eye removed

The Alpha male of our house - Gus Gus - had to have his eye removed on the 3rd after lifelong glaucoma led to the deterioration of the eye itself. We had to drive out to Madison for the procedure. He's not only handsome but tough too, and bounced back from the surgery lickety split (knock on wood.)

Lisa: Good News Bad News

Good news bad news:

Bad first: our beloved Gus Gus’s cataracts ruptured his cornea and he needs his eye surgically removed. We’re not willing to put him down, 2020 has been bad enough! He’s healthy in every other way and has quite a few good years ahead of him. Got him on pain meds for now. 😞

Good: Smiley worked out his schedule at his new school and has a lot of new classes to be excited about.

Huckleberry is Adjusting

If I had to place a bet, I think GusGus and Huckleberry will be good friends (although he did chase Gus for a second last night - but they've bumped noses too.) So far Custard has remained aloof but unafraid, once or twice walking right up to him. Angelcakes is openly contemptuous but has not hid or cried, so fingers crossed.

He is agreeable to the leash only about a fifth of the time and has had accidents in the house, but he's already improving in both regards.

He gets along well with the kids and Lisa, and spent the afternoon with us in the car while we ran errands. He seems cautious around me and sometimes fearful. I think my size and volume remind him of some bad times in the past (he was skin and bones and terribly meek at the pound.) But we will move past that lickety split.

#GusGus. #Huckleberry

Oh, and as you may have noticed by the affinity for boxes apparently we done adopted another cat.

GusGus got out again!

This guy, GusGus, apparently got out again. Ever since he was found earlier this month he's cried at the door at night, probably because a female outdoor cat has his attention. GusGus, whatever he thinks, is not an outdoor cat. Please help us find him again.
He is neutered and micro chipped and was wearing a collar when last seen.

Edit: at around 1245am today (the 30th) GusGus was retrieved - hours after blanketing the block with flyers . I'm not going to delete this bc he's acting very odd and I fear he'll bolt again. Any tips for removing his taste for the fugitive life?

Someone found GusGus!!

EDIT!!!!- Around 8 two amazing people saw my facebook post about our missing fat little kitty, GusGus. They went on a walk by Tenuta's SPECIFICALLY to look for him. Amazing people. They saw him in a driveway and approached him. He ran under the porch but they grabbed him. They called the number listed on the post and called us. We rushed outside and when I saw him I screamed "OMG". Yeah, it scared him and he ran under our neighbors porch. After digging a hole, getting covered in dirt, a bottle of catnip, fishfood, and cat treats, at 8:17 he was placed in our house and immediately plopped on our rug, and cuddled us. The other cats followed him around and smelled him to make sure it was there brother. He ate, drank and purred because he was home. (He'll get a bath soon, he smells like dirt lol) Thank you everyone for your prayers, and support. And TO THE GIRLS WHO FOUND HIM, WE LOVE YOU!!!

- JUNIE

Our beloved grey and black mackerel tabby escaped our house a couple nights back. We hung up flyers around Bayview; Classic slice, Mobil, and Bp. We've seen miracles about finding pets in this group so we decided to try. He's grey, black with accents of white forming his common mackerel tabby pattern (almost like tiger stripes) and is microchipped. One of his eyes is cloudy as a result of glaucoma and he is heavyset. He is VERY friendly and frankly, is probably happy wherever he is as long as he is being fed lol but our other cats and family miss him. Please work your magic. If you see him please contact 414-XXXX or 414-XXXX

THERE IS A REWARD IF YOU FIND HIM

GusGus and the Fishtank

This is GusGus, heir to Billy, who in turn was heir to Lucky. Behind him is our 40 gallon fish tank.

Whenever you press the button atop the tank to turn on the light, and/or open the curio cabinet to retrieve the fish food, this is what will happen:

GusGus will come running, from wherever he may be, and jump atop the table next to the fishtank.

You must - and I stress MUST - shake a bit of the fish food into the cap of the bottle and hold it out for his dining pleasure. He will respond only for fish food, no mere "cat treat."

Once he has partaken, you are then allowed to feed the fish. He will then stare at the fish from his perch at he table, taunting them and forcing them to live every moment of their waking life with a predator a breath away from them.

He's a charmer. LOL
