Let's Be Cops
Last night after class Lisa and I went to see "Let's Be Cops" at Marcus Theatres SouthShore. It's not going to win any Oscars, and you really need to suspend your disbelief, but it's LOL and worth watching - esp. at $5 a ticket.
Thank you CVS
Good on #CVS pharmacies for choosing to stop selling cigarettes. I find it incredibly ironic that the same cashier at #Walgreens that will sell you a pack will then thank you with their tagline of "Be Well". #welldoneCVS #WalgreensPayAttention
Don't Go There
What is the most important lesson to take away from Lt. Joe Kenda #HomocideHunter? Uh, how about that Colorado Springs is a very very violent place. #notaboonfortourism

70 Years Ago Today
70 years ago today Navy pilot George H.W. Bush was was shot down during a bombing run over Chichi Jima. After several hours at sea he was rescued by a U.S. submarine and forty-four years later would be elected President.
The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story
Watching The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story (as told by Dustin Diamond). So far, twenty minutes in, there's not much to report, except that the kid playing Zack is nowhere near as good looking as Mark Paul Gosselaar. #Unauthorized
. . Ok, so we finished watching it late last night, and as (my) Lisa said as the credits rolled: "Who wouldn't authorize THAT??". Let me sum up the dastardly deeds done by the cast and crew: Zack and Lisa *almost* kissed, Screech got drunk once and (gasp!) smoked a joint and . . . . yup. That's it. It's hard to make my teenage years look remotely bad-ass, but they might have pulled it off. Still, a fun trip down memory lane.
The First Day of School 2014
The first day of school 2014 went off without a hitch this morning as #TeamSlap headed out the door on time and happy. Miracles do happen people!
YaYa and LuLu had been asking for a ride to school this AM but once it was vetoed they hit the pavement with no further complaint on this gorgeous morning. "I can tell it's gonna be hot today cuz the sun is out and there's no clouds," Junie said.
At the school, under threat of me making a scene and loudly proclaiming their names while I did so, they gathered for a traditional #TeamSlap cheer. We do it every morning, but no, not usually so close to the school where they could be seen (gasp!) showing family unity and love.
Oh, and here's a huge fly I saw on the way home. I don't know if you can tell scale from my finger in the shot, but it was something out of a '50's horror flick.
