Well, About Time!

After a dozen years of ardent participation, UWM *finally* included a pic of one of my kids in the College For Kids catalog! Junie can be found on page 16.

College for Kids 2016

Once again my kids were privileged to participate in UW-Milwaukee's College for Kids program for two weeks this summer. 

This is fake outrage (again), as she had a big grin before and after the pictures. 

All are now old enough for full roaming privileges on the campus. 

They each had three classes.

Pottery by Junie. One day the power went out on campus, and they couldn't use the kiln. For three weeks we tried to co-ordinate a pickup of the items - only to discover they all fit in the palm of my hand! (the last pic)

 She also earned a white belt in Tae Kwon Do, and broke some boards during her test!

Smiley's work was an asteroid-like video game that I obviously can't post here, but he had a blast doing it!

Junie's Sculptures

For three weeks Junie has been pushing us to retrieve some pottery she left at College for Kids (UWM had a power outage one day during class and they couldn't use the kiln). The instructor has been writing and texting too. Three weeks, two attempts, parking money, and this is what we get: a lil cupcake, a wedge of cheese, and some berries, all small enough to fit in the palm of my hand lol

Day 1 of College for Kids

Here's some pics of the kids when I picked them up from the UWM Union today. Ignore Grace's grumpy face. She did it on purpose, and broke into a smile between my attempts. (OJ came home sick an hour earlier). Early reports are that they like most of their classes, which puts then one up on me most semesters.

College for Kids '16!

This morning we dropped all four kids at UWM for their annual weeks at College for Kids. (Only LK would tolerate photos this morning). From experience, I know this program helps eliminates the intimidation factor most college freshman experience - Grace texted that she knows the campus better than her instructor - and I strongly recommend it to you all. Plus, they have fun and actually learn stuff!

Smart Dad

I told Lisa I was leaving my wallet behind when I went inside to pick up the kids from College For Kids, because that way they couldn't ask me to buy anything. The first thing Grace Slapczynski says upon seeing me: "Can you buy us something?". No, no I can't. Ha! #SmartDad

Correction,  I said 'buy me something' not us. idc about the other kids. oops. -YaYa
