An ENT update

Junie saw the ENT and the replacement ear tube that was put in just last year is loose and resting on her eardrum. The eardrum itself is too thin to support a third surgery, so that's gonna be a problem. She's 4 foot 9.5 inches tall and 89.75 pounds.

Junie's Ear and Adenoid Surgery

It's been a long, bad day. Junie spent five hours (!) at the surgery center today having her adenoids removed and yet more work done on her ears. Her left eardrum is now tissue paper thin and partially collapsed, which scared me, but the Doc acted like it was acceptable if not ideal.

Most of those five hours was just waiting for the surgery, but a good chunk was her bumpy recovery. She literally woke up swinging and had to be restrained.  Lisa and I were both desperately covering up a bad cold, which made the time uncomfortable for us too. Then a nap to try and shake this cold, a big argument with YaYa and now more Kleenexes and snot. Not the worst December 7th ever (duh) but ugh.

Ear Woes

Lisa took LK to the ENT today because she continues to have problems with one of her ear tubes clogging. Medicine has failed to clear it, so the doc is having us put hydrogen peroxide in the ear twice daily for ten days. If that doesn't work, Junie will need to go under to have the blockage cleared. :(

A Bit of a Mix Up

I took Junie to the ear doctor this morning for a follow up to her ear tube surgery - all good, with perfect hearing! Score! 

OTOH, I came home to multiple voice mails saying LuLu was missing a permission slip for a canoe trip (we'd signed it once but it had been rescheduled). By the time I called the school the class had already departed with LuLuleft behind. We are bracing for a s**tstrom of verbal abuse from my hormone ridden kid.
