update: Charlie Kirk Has Been Assasinated

The charismatic and popular leader of a conservative movement on college campuses, Charlie Kirk was just the victim of an attempted assassination at a rally in Utah.

I pray he survives, but from the video, I don't think it's likely. 

The MSM was quick, of course, to describe him as "right wing," using that as an insult, but while his beliefs were - no, ARE - conservative, I always found him respectful of his opposition and willing to listen.  The fact that he'd listen and not be swayed angered the Left all the more.

The online comments from the Left about the shooting are, as expected, disgusting and embarrassing.  If the shoe was on the other foot, there is no leftist in the world where I would mock their pain, root for their death, or celebrate their killer.  You can disagree without hating the other person, and there is ZERO excuse for political violence. 

Good luck Charlie.  You're in my prayers.

Not a Great Start to the Year

Well, 2025 started off violently. 

Shamsud-Din Jabbar, an Army veteran with a high paying job at Deloitte, rented a truck, adorned it with an ISIS flag, and intentionally rammed it into a New Orleans crowd, killing 15 and wounding at least 30 before engaging police in a shootout that cost him his own miserable life. 

Pipe bombs were also found in New Orleans, and an AirBnb connected to Din Jabbar was the site of an arson meant, presumably, to destroy evidence. 

The FBI has labeled it a terrorist act. 

In New York, 10 people were shot at a nightclub, in what seems like "just" a common crime. This, on the heels of a homeless woman being burned to death on the subway by a undocumented immigrant. 

In Las Vegas, an active duty US soldier, who had been stationed at the same camp as Din Jabbar, rented a Tesla Cybertruck, loaded it with fireworks and gas canisters, then shot himself and blew up the car outside a Trump hotel, wounding seven. Perhaps it was an anti-Trump statement. Perhaps it was connected to to New Orleans. No one knows right now. 

Plus, on a much less important note, Lu and YaYa have been arguing since New Years Eve. 

Oh, and the ol' pandemic fears are back in the media. Bird flu is all the rage, as is Norovirus (my cousin Jon is actually ill with that right now), and my Mom's floor is on Covid lockdown after a resident tested positive. Plus local health care giant Aurora has temporarily reinstated a masking and visitor policy for itis facilities. 

Man, I hope this year improves.

The Colorado shooter has been identified as 21 year old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa.

Those of you who made snide little jabs about the alleged ethnicity of the murderer before his identity was established - as if somehow the death of innocents is a "win" if the killer has skin color A as opposed to color B - kindly try being informed AND opinionated, not just the latter.

Facts

He was wanted for murder, it was a scheduled C section (on the taxpayer's dime) and she was more than capable of driving herself. The media seeks to divide. The media IS the enemy.

Yesterday NBC ‘s evening broadcast spent 60 percent more time on stories about Trump than on the terror attack in Barcelona that killed 14 people and injured over 100. Two days before that news that North Korea had backed down was buried fifteen minutes into a broadcast I watched. 

Just sayin', the media has an agenda. 

Short Memories Abound

Like I said yesterday,  if you think the North Korean bs is new,  you haven't been paying attention.

A state run Chinese newspaper has stated that if North Korea attacks US territory, they are on their own, and China will remain neutral.

Just argued with a liberal who hasn't heard of Charlie Gard.  Apparently, neither Occupy Democrats or Maddow talked about him (I'm shocked), which means he should expand his news sources just a wee tad. I've turned off notifications for the post. No use arguing with the brainwashed.

No One is Ever Fogotten

Very moving. The Archdiocese will assume the costs of burying the indigent of Milwaukee County, regardless of faith, a task that previously cost taxpayers $1000 per burial.

Don't Tempt Fate

Those laughing and creating memes about the "Bowling Green Massacre" - the non-event [White House Spokesperson] Conway mistakenly spoke of - should be careful about tempting fate. I fear they will jinx such an event into existence.

An Update

Steve Chamraz, the anchor I blasted yesterday for his Hamilton mistake, just called me and apologized. He said as soon as he read the teleprompter he realized the mistake and spoke to the producer that wrote it, and corrected it before the segment repeated. It was a little awkward given the stinging voicemail I left, but while conceding my own mistakes aren't in the public eye, it was an error a newsroom full of reporters should not have made in the first place.

We're watching "The Now Milwaukee" on WTMJ and host Steve Chamraz just called Alexander Hamilton a former US President! WTH!! THESE are the people we turn to for information about the world around us. God help America.

Enough

ISIS just killed 25 prisoners in Mosul (Iraq) by lowering them each into a vat of acid. The barbarity of these people continues to astound. History will judge us for how long we tolerated their presence on this earth. They need to be wiped out, and *yesterday*.
