Slime?????
When your kid gets slime? On multiple areas of her relatively new purple shag carpet and doesn't tell anyone until it's dried and basically destroyed and you scream "why?!" until tears are streaming down your face. Whhhhy? Why can't my kids ever take care of anything? This is obviously my fault, some break down of parental teaching somewhere.....

A Miracle
Today it was just me and the two younger ones for a few hours, and at one point I let them walk to the gas station alone. If you don't think that was miraculous, then you don't know how my brain works.

Frustrating
I'm sure all my kids will remember from their morning today is me bellowing and raging. Nevermind the half hour of being sweet as sugar, going so far (today) as to bake them cookies. No, let's use that time to sit on our arse until there's ten minutes left to get to school, then talk about homework left undone, green clay "I told you I need for today!", the shoes you can't find (shocking, as you won't leave your chair to look for them), the garbage you 'took out' and left on the kitchen floor, etc. Then when i yell, oy, I'm the bad guy- but y'all moved, didn't ya? It took me one hour, one whole hour for my temple to stop throbbing. Enough.

Congrats are in order
A hectic but productive day. We polished off BOTH Yaya and LuLu's expo projects (due Jan 25th) and did a diorama of a killer whale to accompany a book report of Smiley's. It took a trip to Michael's, the Dollar Store, the floral department of Piggly Wiggly, and several hours, but they're done. Whew. Excuse me while Lisa and I pat our own backs.

6 months
We're 10 days shy of going 6 months w/out a single day w/out kids - or for that matter, so much as 4 hrs (!). Haven't seen a movie in close to a yr, haven't gone out to dinnner alone (w/out a curfew) for months. Typical for some famlies I guess, but Lisa & I enjoy our time together more than most. I think some parents keep their kids on their t*t so they won't notice how little they like their spouse.

ARRRRRRRGGHH!
Bleepin' kids are all over me while Lisa's at the mall. No, you can't go on the computer. No, you can't watch a movie down here. You have the entire 2nd floor, TV and all. Use it. And don't complain. You are a guest here. That's right, a guest. A guest for 18 long years, but a guest all the same. It's my house & my toys, so pbbbt!
