Oz the Great and Powerful
Team Slap, along with most of Entourage and co., went and saw "Oz the Great and Powerful" today. Beautiful visuals (bringing out several "cools!" from LK and PD) and an engaging story. Yes, there were some anachronisms in the film,, at time Franco seems painfully aware that he's an "Actor" with a capital A, and as plots go it isn't up there with a Charles Kaufman script - but so what? It's about witches and munchkins and a man finding himself and it does all of that well. I grade it a happy A.

Congrats!
Kudos to Entourage's daughter Meadow for her MLK Day essay, which won an MPS contest and was published (with her picture) in the Journal-Sentinel.

A Helping Hand - but Worries Too
So, my day continues: @ 5:30 we get an urgent call from a friend asking if she and her children can move in with us; I said we'd take them in for a few nights and "take it from there" but no, I don't this household to grow by 50%, esp. since she has no source of income to help us out. 7 kids, 3 adults here, at least through Wednesday. Oh boy.

Three Movies
3 movie marathon w/ Entourage last night, and I'm afraid they were all mediocre.
"Dream House" with Daniel Craig: I guessed the big twist a few scenes in, and while it still had a ways to go after the reveal, it was never very special.
C. "The Thing" - like the first two versions, only with a lot of CGI that ruins the suspense and adds needless gore.
C. "Hugo" - it was fine, but the story never moved me and the look was too Polar Express. Plus Sasha Cohen sux. B/B-

Entourage's Tattoo
A friend just asked to borrow $ from me to get a tatoo on her foot. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we *have* met before right? Asking Dan Slapczynski to pay for a woman's foot to be marred is like asking the Pope to wizz on the Bible.
The tat in it's final location. Work by Zoe's Vicious Circle on Howard. 414 727-6366

A Peaceful Christmas
Happy Boxing Day. I spent Xmas PM making a dinner of ham, potatoes, green beans, and (1st x ever) homemade bread pudding. The latter was greeted with gag reflexes by the kids, but Lu & Smiley wound up liking it. Then, w/ our friend Chris over it was a night of 'Survivor: Vanuatu', 'Kitchen Nightmares', & Anne Francis in an episode of 'Honey West'. Hope u all had a great & peaceful Christmas.
