Enough PR

We may be done watching #ProjectRunway for the year. Sandhya won - AGAIN - and once again, it was with an ugly, POS design that the judges lapped up despite the evidence in front of their eyes. No doubt the woman can spin a good story describing why her ugly work is fraught with symbolism, but she cannot design clothing worthy of the show. The judges are casting their ballots based on her ethnicity and *not* talent. #reverseracism #PCrunamok #jumpedtheshark #done

Watching the Season 13 premiere of Project Runway. I'm digging Carrie Sleutskaya, but that might just be the beautiful face and the hot blue hair. #ProjectRunway

Today in Danny Land

I was disgusted by Anya and Mondo's poor sportsmanship on this past Project Runway: Under the Gunn. Their behavior towards Natalie was pathetic. Go Team Nick!

Oh - and  Julius Peppers is now a Green Bay Packer!

Eleven Minutes

After work tonight we sat down & watched "Eleven Minutes" a documentary about the creation of Jay McCaroll's 2007 fashion line. Fascinating to watch, and Jay is certainly a character. Interesting fact: he turned down the prize $ from his win on Project Runway, citing the fact that the contract gave 10% of his earnings, in perpetuity, to the PR production company.

Disaster!

Egads! The long awaited DVD of Project Runway Season 8 arrived via Netflix and won't play! We've been forced to jump ahead 5 episodes & start w/ disc 2. Pfui.

A Busy if relaxed day

I heard a radio interview this morning with Tim Gunn. I wish I hadn't, because now I miss Project Runway something fierce. Anyhow, I love Tim Gunn - uh, you know, in a manly, largely platonic way.

After I dropped Lisa off at the Fair I rented "Batteries Not Included" for the kids. Against all their (very vocal) expectations, they liked it. LuLu adored it actually, and peppered me with questions throughout. It really is as good as I remember.

And our Good Samaritan has struck again. This time they left a bag of school uniforms, and a brand new backpack filled with supplies on our porch. Whoever you are, thank you.

Fashion Week

This past Fashion Week was the last time the iconic event will be held at Bryant Park. In spite of the fact that Bryant Park has been responsible for branding New York as "the Fashion Capital of the World," the NYC Parks Commissioner wants them OUT. His office maintains that Bryant Park is a public space, yet Fashion Week is an "invitation only" (i.e., private) event. What crap. Buzzkills abound in the world.

Project Runway Season 7 Finale

Congrats to Seth Aaron Henderson on winning season 7 of Project Runway! It was a well deserved win, as he presented a really unique, eye-catching collection. A fitting end to a good season - certainly better year than that LA monstrosity aka Season 6.

Dang Tim

On his weekly Project Runway blog, Tim Gunn called Milwaukee native Anna's piece "one of the lowest points in the history of the show". Ouch. It's a brutally honest blog and worth a read.
