I'm Not Buying It

I'm not sure I buy the idea of Russia influencing our election; its an awfully convenient out for the Dems. But if true, how did they "influence" it again - by letting the very words of the DNC emails see print?

So. . . they did the job the media *should have done, and let voters see the real heart of that party, so they could make up their own mind?

Heavens, how awful and undemocratic. Dang those imaginary foreign influencers.

Let It Go

Hillary has decided to join Jill Stein's Quixotic Wisconsin recount.

Duh

Romney is obviously the better choice for Secretary of State than Ivanka Trump. This shouldn't even be a discussion.

One last thing

This will be my last post on the election itself, I hope. In response to the "HRC won the popular vote by 1 million, proof we should dump the electoral college" argument: you are actually proving the opposite. Take away CA and NY and Trump wins the popular vote by 7 million. California and New York should not, MUST not, have the power to overrule 48 states. The Electoral College has proven it's worth.

He Really Would Have Loved It

Man I miss Fred Bryan. He would have adored Tuesday's outcome.

Stating the Obvious

If you want a Republic, respect the outcome of its Constitutional elections. To protest them is to argue on behalf of dictatorship.

My Thoughts on the Electoral College

My explanation of the electoral college: Your neighborhood is planning a block party, but you need to agree on one of two dates. You could take a survey of everyone in all 50 houses in the subdivision, but then the sister wives house with 30 kids is pretty much guaranteed to get their way. So instead you have every family decide what they want, and then collect the results from each house. The majority decision then stands.

While I'm at it, the candidates know the nature of the game and tailor their campaign to the electoral college. If the popular vote meant a win, they both would have distributed time and money in different ways, possibly changing the outcome in the popular vote and rendering your narrative moot.

And I love how people only find the electoral college archaic and wrong when their side loses, but it seems just peachy when they win. Odd that, dontchathink?

Forward, not Back

A friend was happy Trump's election could result in a thorough investigation into the Clinton Foundation. I disagree. I think Trump would be wise to ixnay any further foray into Clinton's life. Not that there isn't shady activity to be found, but now is the time to lead the country forward, not bog it down in the past.

Johnson won!! Wow!!

Forget the Presidential race - I would have been ecstatic with just this win. Wow. Congrats to Ron Johnson!

Sob

I'm going to miss this election cycle. What a hoot. I'm misting up, I really am.

Why?

Let's forget the election for a minute and ponder the wisdom of Hillary, who will probably be President, fostering a drumbeat of aggression and antagonism towards Russia that has already led to what the MSM says is a return to the Cold War. Why? Seriously? Because they hacked your email and exposed your bs? The electorate barely paid attention. Back off already.

A Pitiful Slate

I am no rookie to Presidential elections, having followed them since 1984 and studied them all in depth. Believe me when I say, no two cruddier choices have ever appeared on such a ballot. If not for the Senate race, I may have to abstain.

This will Probably End Trump's Run

Donald Trump's comments, made in a public setting, may be the nail in his electoral coffin. Odd that its discovery was timed to knock the release of Hillary's papers from the news; hypocritical that it will help elect a woman married to a man who has, without question, harassed and exploited, and possibly even raped, women; but the comments are inexcusable all the same.

The Presidential Race isn't a Sure Thing

Having been obsessed with Presidential elections since 2000, it's my gut feeling that the Trump campaign has passed the point of no return, and the office is Hillary's. BUT, looking at the electoral map on the liberal site electoral-vote, it's tight. She has 323 projected electoral votes right now, and you need 270. Florida (29) is up for grabs, and if it goes to Trump, AND he squeaks out a pair of smaller states (WI?) she falls short of election. I'm not saying it'll happen, but as it stands, it's not going to an easy win for HRC.

Nonsensical Pandering

In the wake of the recent terror bombings, Clinton has been quick to eliminate any mention of religion as a motivation for the attacks. To mention it, we are told, would only make radical Islamic violence happen more often. Even tho it, you know, it supposedly isn't happening at all.

Let's  go over that logic. You can't say terrorism has nothing to do with Islam and simultaneously claim that addressing that claim will inspire more terror. That's . . . loopy.

Odd

Clinton is trying out claims that her slip in the polls is due to inherent sexism in the electorate. Odd she didn't mention that when she had a 15 point lead weeks ago.

C'mon People

I just don't understand the commenters on Clinton's social media. It's one thing to express your agreement, it's another to respond as if she herself is writing it and gush about how much you adore the way she thinks. What kind of idiot are you? She isn't composing posts between fundraisers. I guarantee it's a Lilly white college intern, living off their Daddy's stipend, that is writing every word.

A House Divided

This house is quite divided on the election. One kid (I will protect their identity) is very pro-Trump; Junie is vehemently in the Clinton camp. The other two believe both are bums and not worth arguing about. Lisa is extremely anti-Trump ("Don't make plans for our 20th anniversary until after the election. I'll divorce your ass if you vote for him). whereas I will protect Trump from the machinations of the MSM but have not yet decided if I should vote at all (a first for me). #ElectionYearFun
