Stop Complaining about Girl Scout Cookies

It’s Girl Scout cookie time- and I think that some people ignore all of the good that the Girl Scouts organization does.

Yes, you might be able to buy knockoff cookies at Aldi- whatever.

You won’t be supporting girls in their fundraising endeavor- so you won’t be helping girls learn business skills, marketing techniques, or communication experience.

But yeah, you might save a dollar.

Girl Scouts regularly provides opportunities to disadvantaged children that may not otherwise be able to afford them.

Support the Girl Scouts.

Junie passed the island swim test!

FiNALLY one of girls passed the island swim test at camp! (All 3 were perfectly capable of doing it.) Congrats!

BN peeps - ran into (manager) Stephanie at the Girl Scout Service Center, where she runs the gift shop.

Had a blast dropping Aly and Junie off at girl scout camp today. They will be there until Monday. Here are just a few pics from today.

Camp Time!

This afternoon Melissa and I dropped the girls off at camp. If you're friends with YaYa or Lulu it'll be a bit before they're back with their beloved phones. Lisa and I celebrated the quiet house with a long nap then a brisk 20 minute bike ride as the sun set.

Overheard while waiting for the camp bus to unloaded the kids this evening: LuLu: "Listen up! I want to get home and take a nap,  so sit in the your seats until you're called so we can get this done!"

Canoeing Ain't For Babies

Junie got roughed up canoeing at camp. True sad fact: my nine year old canoes, but I've never once been in one.

LK Goes to Camp

Dropping LK off at the camp bus stop was not easy-peezy, as the line took more than twenty minutes to advance. But whatev. She was in great spirits and I hope she had a blast at camp.

LuLu helps out running a Brownie troop, and they volunteered at the local soup kitchen!

I ain't buying it

At a Girl Scout event today all the Moms that failed to get their girls Unicorn Fappucino's (before the promotion ended) tried acting like it was for the sake of nutrition, and not because they didn't kick butt like my baby momma did for her girl. #AintBuyingThatMalarkey

Don't Be in Such a Hurry to Grow Up

Oldest daughter wants to work all summer and I'm making her take days of for two different girl scout camping volunteer opportunities. She's not in agreement, but unlike her I know these lazy days of summer for her are coming to an end sooner then [sic] I'd like to admit. - Lisa
