How Dare He?!

Speculating that a terrorist bombing was done by terrorists. How dare Trump?!  Lol

"He's stereotyping terrorists now!! He's mean! What a fascist! #ImWithHer #notmyprez"

Gawd,  the media is vile.

The ISIS Teen

Good. It is not a racial issue, it is a religious and philosophical one. His commitment to those tenets, regardless of race, are abhorrent.

Wrong

Disgusted to hear of another terrorist attack in London, this time perpetrated against Muslims. Pointless, divisive, and morally wrong.

The Democrats won the Congressional Softball Game but handed the trophy over to the GOP so it could be put in Rep. Steve Scalise's office. Very cool of them.

The Terror Attack on the Congressional Softball Game

FBI Special Agent in Charge Tim Slater: "Too early to say" whether shooting was an act of terrorism: Bull. No. It was terrorism. Not all terrorism is inspired by religon. In this case, it is the terror of the Left. And it makes me sick to watch all these TV anchors report on the very hate they inspire.

Insane to see who was there, and what leadership this nation might have lost. Kudos to the police for putting him down.
An otherwise sane  FB friend (blocked from viewing this post, a first for me ) believes the shooting at the GOP softball practice was a false flag designed by Trump to suppress the media, that the paid potential assassin was murdered like Oswald, and that the equivalent of martial law will follow.  Sigh.  Hate really is a blindfold,  isn't it?

Unbelievable

An otherwise sane  FB friend (blocked from viewing this post, a first for me ) believes the shooting at the GOP baseball practice was a false flag designed by Trump to suppress the media, that the paid potential assassin was murdered like Oswald, and that the equivalent of martial law will follow.  Sigh.  Hate really is a blindfold,  isn't it?

Times Have Changed

June 4 1940: We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.

Winston Churchill June 4 2017: Run, hide, tell. (the new UK anti-terror slogan)

Farewell Great Britain. T'was nice to know you.

Grrrr

Rest assured, it is just a lone wolf, and it has nothing to do with religion, and can't we all open borders/refugee/kumbaya?

The Philippines have declared martial law on the southern island of Mindanao after a wave of attacks by Islamic terror groups, backed by ISIS, have created a state of rebellion.
Children are dead in Manchester. Please, let us not regurgitate the same tired routine: we will light candles, we will offer prayers, we will change our FB profile picture, we will say this loser doesn't stand for everyone that shares his beliefs, we will vow to be strong . . . and we will forget, and it will repeat.

London Terror

Sweet Lord, stop putting "terrorist incident" in quotes. Even if, in your merry Liberal dreams, the London attack was not religious or political in nature, it is quite clearly *a terrorist act*.

Terror in France

73 dead in what the White House is confirming is a terrorist attack in France. No guns; he drove a truck into a crowd. It isn't the weapon that's to blame folks, it's the person wielding it.

My Thoughts

Let me spare you all all some angst: America isn't going to get rid of its guns, we aren't going to ban anything, and blaming Orlando on anything but the killers ideology is pointless. In a world without guns, he walks in with a suicide vest. Same result, fewer memes, and no go-to scapegoat to divert blame from where it belongs.

A Sad but Relatable POV

Yesterday Nick, the Sikh gas station attendant I see everyday, was visibly upset over the news in Orlando. "The world is going to hell. The madmen will kill us all. . . It's good it's good your daughter is not going to the festival. Stay away from public places. Avoid crowds. You are safer alone. Nowhere public is safe. It's all going to hell." Although I don't think he was in the country at the time, his temple is the one that was shot up a few years ago.

My reasoning

YaYa is annoyed with me because I vetoed her attending PrideFest with some family members today. A - it wasn't going to happen anyway, as we had an event to attend shortly after noon and B - given the events of today, both in Orlando and California, uh-uh.

It's all well and good to not give in to terror, and to push forward in the face of violence *if you're an adult*. If I decide to do that, I'm a grown man and I've made my decision and can deal with the possible consequences. Not so my 14 year old daughter.

The Orlando Mass Shooting

In line with my long standing belief that a killer doesn't deserve fame, I've deleted the post that had a picture of the shooter prominently displayed.

If there is any truth to the fact that the Orlando shooter was on the FBI "Watch List" - and there are conflicting reports - then I humbly suggest we nut up and do more than just "watch" suspected terrorists and wait and see if they kill 50 people.

This morning's events (terror attackers in Belgium) sadly made me recall a very non-PC joke Pete Townsend made at The Who concert last night, one I'm not surprised didn't make the newspaper review. This was Pete Townsend speaking, of Amnesty International and all causes liberal. He was talking about how the band was still struggling to make it in America after success in Britain: "In '67 we were still trying to crack America . . . 'crack America'. That sounds a bit Moooslem, doesn't it?"

The Paris Train Heroes

My apologies for misrepresenting these men as Marines in an early post - I should know better than to trust the first day's worth of any news story.  #MuchPride that these young men share my nationality. For the record, they are a Guardsman, an Airman, and a college student, and above all, heroes.

update: You doubt the media is biased? When CNN headlines a story about the 3 unarmed Americans who stopped the terrorist on that train in France, they call them heroes - but they put the word in quotes.

Ah, their editors must have got cracked across the knuckles. I just went back to screenshot the headline and the quotes have been removed. #TooLateToChangeMyMindCNN
