Semi-Celebrity Sighting
Today I sold a Nook to former Brewer Jerry Augustine, who was buying it for a woman who will care for him after upcoming surgery. I also sold one to Ms. Charney's husband (as a gift for her).

The New Nook
I really like it. It navigates easily like the Nook Color and delivers a crisp, distinct text. It's much smaller and lighter than I expected. While the screen size is more than adequate, the overall dimensions might turn some people off. In my experience ereaders are still in a transition phase. People want it to mimic the physical experience of a book, and I'm not sure the petite size accomplishes that. But I read a chapter or two on it today and found it just as enjoyable as the old Nook. I'm actually hoping things improve around here so I can pick up a pair for my two oldest kids for Christmas.

The New Nook
I played with the new Nook today. It's very compact, but the screen is about the same as the B&W Nook - excuse me, the Nook "1st Edition". It's navigation mimics the Color, and the text really is sharper. Still a 'flash' between pages, tho' I'm told that will be ironed out. Impressive

The New Nook
I'm in awe of what I've read of the Nook that debuted today. W/ that & the Color Nook on the market, Amazon's board should quietly start dumping their shares.

A Nook Complaint
Big fan of the Nook, as you know, and I favor the reading experience and battery life of the b&w over the Color, but I gotta tell ya - the inability to read in dim light is wearing on me. As soon as twilight arrives your reading is done, long before a booklight would be needed for a traditional page. Not liking the idea that a Color might be the weapon of choice when funds allow.

A Suggestion for the Nook
Since the Nook has a built in MP3 player and access to Barnes & Noble's inventory, here's a little idea. Wouldn't it make a whole heapin' helping of sense for a user to be able to purchase and download music or whole albums to their Nook?
