A mighty fine workout with Smiley. And I brought my late father-in-laws lifting gloves.

While We Wait

We've taken up residence at the in-airport hotel while awaiting our flight. While the rest of the family napped, Junie and I hit the gym downstairs. It's the first time she's ever gone to the gym (she's prohibited by age at home).

At the gym with Lulu. Tired? Stressed? Busy? Under the weather? Sore? Check X 5. But I've spent enough of my life sitting on my a##, thank you.

The Gym and Thanksgiving Results

Just back from the gym with Smiley. Today was the first time in his life he showered in a public setting, which was a big deal, so props to him. In other health news, I somehow lost 4 pounds Thanksgiving week, which obviously means I have a fatal tapeworm, bc it truly wasn't deserved. I'm nearing, but not at, my lowest weight of this century.

A Nice Workout

I enjoyed a nice hour long workout with LuLu this evening. We were two of only five people in the gym - we went during the Packers game lol!

Smiley Joins me at the Gym

Smiley and I hit the gym again tonight, the third time since he quit dance last week. That's his part of the bargain. I shut up about dance, he hits the gym. So far so good. The boy likes to lift, or at least attacks it like he does, but he has an annoying habit of jogging on the treadmill while I lumber along at walking speed. Show off.

A Day at the Gym

Went to the gym and lifted weights with Smiley while Junie spent an hour in the daycare area there. On the way home the skies opened up and the rain was so bad I pulled over for a few minutes. That's Smiley's fault; just moments before he said he hoped it would "rain loud."

The Gym

I went to the gym with Smiley this afternoon. We both did a nice circuit on the weight machines then fifteen minutes on the treadmill. He did great.

Good Advice. A little lacking in tact, perhaps . . .

Junie: "You haven't been to the gym in a while Dad. And you've been eating a lot of salt and vinegar chips. You should go before you get real fat again."

#Truth

YaYa and I hit the gym earlier this evening. I forgot my card and they waved me in on sight. Which means either I've gone often enough to be recognized or they're just very lax employees.

Just got back from what was (to me) a 40 min workout that left me short of breath and covered in sweat. Smiley on the other hand, did more and was neither sweaty nor remotely bothered. Which makes me both annoyed at him, and proud - we must be doing something right as parents.

This afternoon I was very pleased to have Smiley accompany me to the gym. We did a half hour on the treadmill (where he smoked me) then I introduced him to the weight machines. I'm happy to have a 3rd person available to keep me company when I work out!
