Not Impresed

NKOTB, TLC (minus Left Eye), and Nelly on tour together? I like them all individually, but collectively they're a nostalgic but sad State Fair headliner. #unimpressed

Creed is Filming!!

Whoo-hoo! The new Rocky movie is shooting! I can't wait for "Creed".

This Morning

Spending a good chunk of the morning here at St Luke's waiting for Lisa to complete a test. No huge, life altering deal, so have no fear

Jaspare's 77th Birthday!

Today we hosted Lisa's step-father's 77th birthday party. Sloppy joes, birthday cake, and a very "on" Jaspare made for a very pleasant time for everybody. Happy birthday old man!

(The pic of Junie with a cardboard contraption is her bow, probably a nod to Hunger Games)

A String of Comments Regarding this Horrendous Special Teams Travesty

Hey Russell, good thing you're pimping Obamacare on TV, since your passer rating needs some life support. #overrated

I expect this kind of behavior from the Brewers, but the Pack???

Pathetic. A Brewers quality collapse.

My reaction to the loss, while largely restrained (although I may have wished a fiery plane crash on the Seahawks), has still resulted in Lisa attempting to resurrect her ban on watching any sports in our home.

Watching the AFC championship game to find out who to root for in the Super Bowl. #AFChasmyvote #anyonebutSeattle

So, many of Seattle's ballyhooed "12" left the stadium early, thinking the loss was guaranteed. That says a lot about the quality of their bandwagon fan base. Then again, I'm jealous that they didn't have to watch that ridiculous collapse. #GoPats #stillpissed

Grrr

Went for a walk with Junie to burn off some frustration.

A Guessing Game

Explain the significance of the message on these buttons. First one to get it right gets my respect . . .and that's about it. :)

Ninety minutes until Stiverne-Wilder, but I won't see it until the morning. I may have to avoid social media overnight to dodge spoilers. I think most money is on Deontay, but I believe he's a ghost of a contender and that a real heavyweight like Bermane can drop him. Winner gets Klitschko and the belts unify . . .I've got goosebumps.

UNO

Playing UNO with Smiley (and not paying attention to the flash settings :)

A rare January Walk

I took advantage of the gorgeous 30 degree weather to walk #teamslap to school for only the second time in '15. It felt great!

A Bandwagon Fan Base

Not *strictly* true. My loyalty to Holmgren led me to casually follow them during his era. And the Dad from "Frazier" claimed to be a fan. So that's three people . . .

Manners Maeketh Man

From what I heard on the radio, the $1.5 billion Powerball winner is a multi-millionaire who spent $30,000 on tickets. IMO, if your bank account has seven figures, playing the lottery is just poor manners.

Enjoy your retirement Adam Dunn. I think the public underestimated your talent at the plate.

Discuss

Would this hypothetical ticket (Nixon/Rockefeller) have gotten the job done for the GOP in '60? Feel free to discuss.

Btw, what a great button! I wish I owned it.

It Ain't All Roses

It's been a rough evening for #teamslap. A fit by Junie because she didn't like dinner. A fit by YaYa because we wouldn't take her to Ulta Cosmetics. A fit by Lulu because she misplaced her dance shoes and blamed us. Only Smiley was cool. Calm now - cuz the kids are all at activities.lol

Twas Fate

It's as if the Goodwill gods demanded we buy it (we didn't tho - someone had already claimed it)

A Matter of Justice by David A. Nichols

Book #1 of 2015. It was informative and well written, but I do feel that at times Nichols struggled to rationalize *some* of Ike's caution. But kudos to him for highlighting the role Eisenhower played overall in the Civil Rights movement - sending federal troops into a Southern State to enforce school integration? It's almost impossible, in the here and now, to realize how shocking and bold that choice was for the 1950's.

Recommended.
