Norm MacDonald
I'm shocked. SNL alum and comedian Norm MacDonald is dead at 61.

A Brewers No-Hitter!
Two days ago I randomly spent far too much time thinking that 34 years was too long between no-hitters, and that with our current pitching staff, we should've gotten one this year. . . .
You're welcome.

A Slenderman Update
Good. I wish her well. Not only is it ridiculous that people are outraged she wasn't locked away for life - AT TWELVE! - she clearly had mental issues, and *her victim lived.* Rarely do I pull the race card, but bs all this noble Waukesha fury would exist if it happened to two kids with darker complexions.

Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson
All the lavish praise and talk of how this book is a "true tour de force"? That's evidence that publishing people done lost their minds. The writing style is strong, I'll grant you that, but the plot belongs in a second tier Encyclopedia Brown story, and the "twists" are so obvious you have to wonder why he bothered writing them down. (irritating minutia: if you're foolish enough to read the book, count how many times the healthy main character feels faint . . . simply from missing a single meal.)
Pass.
5 HOF
With Ted Simmons's induction next week, 5 Hall of Famer's will have played for the 1982 Brewers: Yount, Molitor, Fingers, Sutton, and Simmons.
Willard Scott
"The Today Show" weatherman extraordinaire Willard Scott died today. RIP.

LuLu moves into the Dorms
Lisa, Junie, and I moved LuLu into her UW-Madison dorm today. The whole process was relaxed and unhurried, and we were able to stay to see her room 90% finished. This is the second kid we've moved out, but the first that is outside of a viable retrieval radius in case of a zombie outbreak, and knowing that - and that I won't see her for months at a time - made it rough. But life is change and turmoil, and I am wholly confident she'll do great and emerge an even stronger student that accomplishes great things! We love you! Go

Ten
Thirty years ago today - 30 YEARS! - Pearl Jam released Ten, their debut album. Within a few months my friend Atta would loan me a copy on cassette, and I was hooked. I wore out multiple copies and three decades later I still consider them "my" band.
Happy Anniversary!

Kasey's Pop Up
I visited Kasey’s pop up at the Maker Market at Discovery World last week after months of contemplating ordering these cookies from Mac MKE (and always seeming to miss the event booths) and I was wholeheartedly impressed with both the taste/presentation, but also Kasey herself. Very charming to talk to & her work speaks for itself. I’ll definitely be ordering custom goods soon! If you’ve been thinking about ordering- my advice, just do it!! - yaya
