We're watching #myhusbandsnotgay, a TLC special about married Mormons who are also attracted to men. The title invites derision, but so far it's a pretty good documentary.

Dealing with the guilt trip of a friend who asked me to go out tonight and then got uppity when I said I had plans. Nevermind that he ignored my requests last week. #buzzkill #guiltmonger
The Pencil Sharpener
In addition to getting the new couch, I put up an old fashioned metal pencil sharpener in our pantry yesterday. This has been a goal of ours for ten years, since the first frantic search for a sharpened pencil in K3.
It brought back memories of having one in my own pantry growing up.School Fees of Old
On September 23, 1991 I paid $2.00 in student fees at Pulaski High School. I then chose to hold onto the receipt for the last twenty-four years. I don't think I'm a hoarder, but I am symptomatic.

Finally! Our New Couch
It took two months, Contact Six, daily calls, and in the end I picked it up myself with Socialist, but we FINALLY have our new couch.
Ernie Banks
RIP Ernie Banks . . . even if ya did play for one of the three most vile franchises in baseball (Cubs, Cardinals, Red Sox)

Stop the Violence
Thirteen homicides this month. At this time last year we had ONE. And once again it's not a gun issue (it was another stabbing) but instead domestic violence. As the mayor said at the press conference a few minutes ago, there are ample resources available in this city for families in those situations: please, use them before it's too late.

Not Impresed
NKOTB, TLC (minus Left Eye), and Nelly on tour together? I like them all individually, but collectively they're a nostalgic but sad State Fair headliner. #unimpressed
Creed is Filming!!
Whoo-hoo! The new Rocky movie is shooting! I can't wait for "Creed".
This Morning
Spending a good chunk of the morning here at St Luke's waiting for Lisa to complete a test. No huge, life altering deal, so have no fear

Jaspare's 77th Birthday!
Today we hosted Lisa's step-father's 77th birthday party. Sloppy joes, birthday cake, and a very "on" Jaspare made for a very pleasant time for everybody. Happy birthday old man!

A String of Comments Regarding this Horrendous Special Teams Travesty
Hey Russell, good thing you're pimping Obamacare on TV, since your passer rating needs some life support. #overrated
I expect this kind of behavior from the Brewers, but the Pack???
Pathetic. A Brewers quality collapse.
My reaction to the loss, while largely restrained (although I may have wished a fiery plane crash on the Seahawks), has still resulted in Lisa attempting to resurrect her ban on watching any sports in our home.
Watching the AFC championship game to find out who to root for in the Super Bowl. #AFChasmyvote #anyonebutSeattle
So, many of Seattle's ballyhooed "12" left the stadium early, thinking the loss was guaranteed. That says a lot about the quality of their bandwagon fan base. Then again, I'm jealous that they didn't have to watch that ridiculous collapse. #GoPats #stillpissed
Wilder is the new Champ
To add to my woes, the judges handed Deontay Wilder the heavyweight belt in a lopsided decision. I scored it far differently, and if you follow this account you know my scoring is usually dead on. I'm not saying it was crooked, but the WBC has pulled some odd stuff over the years and they've been publicly calling for years for an American champ to emerge.
Mission accomplished, if your ideal American champ has limited skill.
Frankly, I think Wilder exposed his "freakish" power as a creation of his weak competition. After all, Stiverne took twelve rounds of his best shots without tasting the canvas. So much for that myth. I'm confident Klitschko will dominate him.
Grrr
Went for a walk with Junie to burn off some frustration.
A Guessing Game
Explain the significance of the message on these buttons. First one to get it right gets my respect . . .and that's about it. :)

Ninety minutes until Stiverne-Wilder, but I won't see it until the morning. I may have to avoid social media overnight to dodge spoilers. I think most money is on Deontay, but I believe he's a ghost of a contender and that a real heavyweight like Bermane can drop him. Winner gets Klitschko and the belts unify . . .I've got goosebumps.
