Peppermint
This was a great action flick. And you know what? It was a woman out whupping a$$, and no one, not even the bad guys, gave her gender a second thought. I'd call that progress.

The Man Who Invented Christmas
Lisa and the kids saw this in the theater last year but I missed out - and boy do I regret it. This was a joyous, charming movie that made me smile from beginning to end. Well done!

Jigsaw
I'm no fan of the Saw movies, which I view as torture porn. Jigsaw was better than most in the series, in that it wasn't completely awful.
Operation Finale
A film about the hunt for Eichmann after the war. It was a good solid movie but lacked a real sense of urgency. Worth a watch all the same.
