A Sad Sight
Genesis was one of my late father-in-law's favorite places to dine with his wife. Lisa and I had dinner with them there at least once, and I'm sad to see a staple of their later years close its doors.
Pet Peeve
I do not care that this is a real word, originating in Middle English, that functionally is no different than the common American use of "while."
If you use "whilst" my inner voice starts screaming. To my ears it sounds pretentious and irritating. That's on me, not the speaker, but regardless: ick.
Herman the Mammoth
For Valentine's Day Lisa custom ordered a crochet mammoth for me, from the same lady that made LuLu's turtles!
I've named him Herman, primarily because he looks like a Herman to me, and partially in honor of author Herman Wouk.
The seller even included adorable photos of his creation
Of his yearning to explore the outdoors . . .
And of him frolicking in the snow LOL!
I love him! Thanks Lisa! xo

Sometimes Accuracy isn't Needed
I'm not sure the d**k silhouette was an artistic necessity.

WTH
So I just got home from Madison, I'm barely unpacked, and this dude randomly walks down the block, stops in front of my house, faces the street, takes out his penis and starts twirling around in a circle peeing.

Lopez-Ortiz
The ridiculous UD win by Teofima López against Jamaine López is yet another blight on the sport of boxing.
I scored the fight 115 to 113 for Ortiz, as did some sites I just checked. He outsmarted and frustrated López the whole fight. Two judges saw it 115-113 for López, and ESPN scored it a draw, so yes, it could have gone either way.
But it's impossible to explain a 117-111 score from the third judge. He was either asleep, a fool, or on the take, and none of those options do anything to restore faith in the sport.
A February Tornado
I'm still in Madison on business, staying on the top floor of an eight story hotel, and there's been a heck of a storm in the area. Here there was just bad lightning and rain from what I could see out the window, but nearby Evansville Wisconsin had a tornado touch down.
There's been no reported injuries and I hope that doesn't change.
This is apparently the first confirmed tornado to ever sit down in Wisconsin during the month of February. As of today Wisconsin has had a confirmed tornado in every month of the year.
