Panther Pride

Met up with Jennifer today to shoot some graduation photos! Jennifer is an English major with a passion for literature - so of course we had to get a few photos in the library!

A Possible Delay

 Well...surgery may be delayed because my pre-op tests went poorly. It's going to come down to the wire. I'll know mid Tuesday if I'm having surgery Wednesday. But...here's the wolf cut after pic! - Lisa

I've agreed to a free haircut on Thursday of this week. A "wolf cut". Then the following Wednesday a surgeon takes my breasts down 8 sizes. So by Thursday of next week I'll be flat chested with a mullet...but it's got new name for a mullet so it's gonna be all good right? RIGHT? These before and after pics are gonna be something else lol - Lisa

My Thoughts - Bail and the Waukesha Parade Tragedy

Unpopular opinion: the tragedy in Waukesha isn't a reason to scrap bail reform, nor is it an excuse to add (yet another) law on the books because it makes us feel like we did something, anything, to address the evil. 

The alleged killer had been accused of a violent act and had a history of not showing up for court dates - the system AS IS should have prevented his low bail.  It was human, not systematic,  error.

He's from the wrong party (from my POV) but the DA is right: we don't need NON- violent defendants languishing in jail,  unable to make bail.

We just found out that Bob Ceplina, our old landlord from  '04 to early 2007 (and Grandpa to Lisa's friend) passed away.  He was a great guy, and the world is a poorer place without him. RIP

The Waukesha Christmas Parade Massacre

Morning Dan, just watching news and see the awful news of the deaths of some children etc on the Thanksgiving school band march.  Praying that you are all safe.  I realize Wisconsin is a huge state and you may well be many miles from the dreadful actions…but just want you to know I’m thinking of you all

Thank you Sybil, your concern means a lot. Waukesha is about a half- hour west of our home, and I work in a nearby suburb. The night before my boss, who has her college age children and her parents in town for the Thanksgiving holiday, had talked about going to the Christmas parade. Thankfully, the day was quite cold and her mother vetoed it! My distant cousin was in attendance however, but was unharmed, although he saw some of the carnage. at last count, 5 dead and 40 injured. The whole of SE Wisconsin is in shock.
