LuLu's Basketball Banquet

I just want to point out that if you take away the Brewers impressive 9 game winning streak, they are 6 and 18 on the year.

The (official) Dance Portraits of 2012-2013

Here's my YaYa in her Thriller costume; she also performed in Let's Twist Again.

This is LuLu in her Something to Dance For costume; this was taken ONE day after her tonsillectomy. All props to the tough chick.

Smiley danced in Locomotion

Young Junie danced to Lilo's and was gooooorrrrrgeous!

Finally, here's a group shot of Team Slap :)

LuLu!

We're packing up two of the kids to go over by Grandma's this weekend and Lisa says to make sure they're home by Sunday so she can spend Mother's Day with them. My response? "WHY? I sure don't want them here for Father's Day."

Quote of the Day

I don't play role playing games, and I confess to a slight bias against the folks who do, but when I was reminded that the Wheel of Time, one of my favorite book series, had an RPG, I was intrigued.

I told Lisa I was thinking about buying it to play with some friends, and she stared at me quietly for a moment before delivering a classic zinger:

"You grow less attractive every year."

It reads kinda mean in print, but in person it was (literally) LOL.

A Memory of Light

I finished the 14th and final Wheel of Time book "A Memory of Light". My vote? Eh. Not a bad book, but one of the weaker efforts of the series*. The writing seemed rushed, the dialogue was sometimes flat and clichéd, and I thought the Rand portion of the final battle was dull dull dull. That last chapter nearly rescued it though, and an average WOT is still better than most books. Grade: B

A Funny

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

Because no good deed goes unpunished, the man who rescued the three abducted women in Cleveland is being skewered on The Smoking Gun website after they dug up domestic violence issues from the '90's. What a pathetic use of the site. As one commenter said, "One of the greatest compliments a person can give you is to talk about what you USED to do". Kudos to him for his actions this week, and a big thumbs down to TSG.
