4 Flicks
MI-2 was ok, but I'm glad the John Woo stuff didn't stick around in the series. The Predator was average and watchable, but little more, and it was sad to see Thomas Jane in such a bit part. Smallfoot was cute. Skyscraper was GREAT, an action classic from the here and now.

Christmas
Christmas Eve was wonderful. My two oldest and I worked, then we all had a relaxing dinner at my parent's place. Afterwards we returned home and opened all our presents in a peaceful, orderly fashion, then shared oplatki. Alas, a bad cold we'd been fighting hit home overnight, and Christmas day was spent largely asleep in bed: our traditional pancake breakfast, Mass, a movie, all of it had to be canceled. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Boxing Day can be salvaged.

A Star is Born
I saw this today with Lisa at Mayfair and loved everything about it. Lisa was less enthusiastic but still enjoyed it.

Smiley got into MHSA!
Smiley is now enrolled at Milwaukee H.S. of the Arts as a visual art major. Proud he's attending his first choice school, and my alma mater. - Lisa

Peppermint
This was a great action flick. And you know what? It was a woman out whupping a$$, and no one, not even the bad guys, gave her gender a second thought. I'd call that progress.

The Man Who Invented Christmas
Lisa and the kids saw this in the theater last year but I missed out - and boy do I regret it. This was a joyous, charming movie that made me smile from beginning to end. Well done!

Jigsaw
I'm no fan of the Saw movies, which I view as torture porn. Jigsaw was better than most in the series, in that it wasn't completely awful.
Operation Finale
A film about the hunt for Eichmann after the war. It was a good solid movie but lacked a real sense of urgency. Worth a watch all the same.

You Reap What You Sow
Walker froze tuition for years. In return, students overwhelmingly voted for Evers, who promptly raises tuition. Nice job kids.
