Nuh Uh

TLC's new show where parents pick a spouse for their adult/loser children. It'd be a cold day in hell . . .#MarriedByMomAndDad.

A Nice Afternoon

After some housework Lisa and I toured Chrissy and Chris' new flat, which is quite cute. Then we dined at Maggianos free of charge, courtesy of a gift card JJ gave us for our anniversary. A nice afternoon :)

Goodbye dear toaster

After 19 years the 4 slice Proctor-Silex toaster  Lisa and I got as a wedding present went kaput, ruining the last good thing to come out of that day. ;) So here's the new one, complete with fancy-dancy buttons and removable crumb trays. If you bought us the original toaster, thank you.

Finals = done

I've finished and submitted both of my take home finals for law school. They weren't due until the end of the week but with the surgery coming up I wanted them out of the way. My first semester as an L2 is now complete.

Happy Birthday TJ

Yesterday afternoon all of #TeamSlap headed to my Godson's birthday party. We bought him a Batman bank with a deposit inside, and Smiley helped him construct a Lego car.

LOL

LuLu is annoyed I signed a permission slip "Dan The Man Sllap-." #DealWithItCuzItsTrueLu

Good Attendance Night

On Thursday Smiley and Junie earned a ticket to a Good Attendance award event after school. YaYa tagged along with me and got hugs from the kids she babysat over the summer and greetings from old classmates.

We decorated a Christmas cookie and would have made a construction paper gingerbread man and a Letter to Santa, but the former tables were full and the latter project was way too young for them.
Congrats on your great attendance kids!

Counting On

We're watching the new Duggar show. We've missed them. #JillAndJessa

Elf

You either love Will Ferrell or you hate him. If you hate him, you're an awful human being.

Good Job Girls!

On Saturday morning Junie's Girl Scout troop spent time at the Rescue Mission helping prepare Christmas gifts for homeless families. Afterwards the troop retired to the leader's house to decorate gingerbread cookies and dine on pizza. Proud of you kid!

Junie's Ear Surgery

@ the surgery center in Franklin

VERY frustrated at the spotty cell reception here. Trying and failing to update Lisa on Junie's progress. Lisa, pop on messenger, there's WiFi here.

As I mentioned last week Junie needed one ear tube replaced because of "mechanical failure," and I'm glad we pursued it bc it turns out her ear tissue had grown through the tube, blocking it. Despite an early start to the day, she's fine if grumpy. Lisa was pulling Mom duty at the dentist with YaYa but texted throughout - even tho mine didn't seem to go through :)

LOL

Back in Business

Yay!!! After being without TV in the living room for 24 hours Junie found the remote in the upstairs hall!!

What an Honor!

Junie was invited to perform her [dance] improv in front of LuLu's class :)

How Did the Bucks Know?

I had to show ID at the Bradley Center yesterday to pick up the tickets I didn't give an email address, I didn't use my credit card at the venue. I have never subscribed to or received anything from the Bucks. And yet just a minute ago I got an email from them, sent to my private email, asking if I enjoyed the game. #CreepedOut #BigBrother

Con Law 2 Final

Con Law 2 Final.I finished the final in a little over an hour. I had 90 minutes left but after four long decades of this a) I know I'm a decently smart guy, and b) that any third read through will just have me doubting everything I've done. So, one down and two take home finals to go.

Free: Cat

Sadly, I will be surrendering a cat [Angel] to the humane society. If anyone needs a solid cat companion to prevent her re-homing text or pm me. Thanks. - Lisa

update: This did not happen. Angel and Lisa resolved their differences and became constant companions

Thank You!

Christmas Tree Lighting

While I was at the Bucks game Lisa took our girls to the lighting of the Bay View Christmas tree at South Shore park. By all accounts the event was fun and a nice way for the community to get in the Christmas spirit. However, the actual lighting was "lame. Literally hundreds of people around a tree smaller than ours, and not as pretty."

A Sweet Memory

Lisa just reminded me of a life event referenced in the show. When it came time for YaYa to get rid of her didi's (pacifiers) we wrapped them up in a Christmas package and Gracie gave them to the Santa at Mayfair so he could pass them on to babies that needed them

Fury

The Brad Pitt WWII flick. I enjoyed it a lot. I'm not saying it was realistic, or that the characters were good people, just that I liked the film.

Check out this JS article

Good article in today's Journal-Sentinel about Milwaukee connections to Pearl Harbor, which meant a chunk of the piece was devoted to the USS Vestal. My Great Uncle Leo was stationed aboard that ship during the attack.
