Some of my best memories are of the Domes, and I would miss the *idea* of them being in our city. But let's be honest. As an adult it's a half hour visit at best, and only the tropical and desert Domes are even worth a look. If it's going to cost $75 million of public money to bring them up to their less than impressive status quo, I say it's time to part ways.

That's a lot of $$ in 1976
I gave it to the last minute, but with the hip acting up for the last 36 hrs I called into work. I came within a hair's breadth of skipping Marquette too, but went, learned nothing that wasn't covered in the reading, and was worse for the wear. Now comes the inevitable guilt that accompanies a call-in. My mind is a strange place.
And get this:
In 1976 my Professor was earning $75K/yr in practice, and left to teach at Marquette for $12K a year. Yikes.
My Thoughts on the Domes
Some of my best memories are of the Domes, and I would miss the *idea* of them being in our city. But let's be honest. Fat Tuesday
Greeted Fat Tuesday with donuts and crumb cake because the kids don't like paczki's. Lisa still bought some for us though, and I demand the kids buy them when they're adults. #tradition #culture
A Hip Update
I did too much walking Monday. The hip forced me to bed before ten, and got me up by 4:30. Still, it's definitely on the mend.
Hellions
A horror film that's either artsy or stupid, depending on your POV.

Marvel's Jessica Jones
Eh. I watched the first episode, and I don't understand all the hype.
Family Night Sucess!
Success! After dinner at Landmark, #TeamSlap completed an entire game of the Match Game DVD game. There were some rough spots, but no tears and no blood spilled.
Match Game Trivia
According to Patty Duke, the light on the Match Game 79 celebrity panel is controlled by "an infrared scanner block which triggers an oval jk flip flop which subsequently supplies the control voltage to an optically isolated solid state relay which turns on the light" when you slide in your answer. #MatchGame
Happy Adoption Day!

Super Bowl 50
I didn't have much of a rooting interest in the Super Bowl, but I found myself pulling for Peyton and the Denver D that helped me earn eleven wins in fantasy football. Great pitchers duel, pure defense most of the way, but Cam choked on the big stage - his conscious decision not to go after his own fumble sealed the deal. Dab on that Cam. Congratulations to the Broncos and the Manning family! #SB50
Match Game Minutiae
Lisa discovered some vital Match Game information this morning, discerning that Gene Rayburn knew the contestants names because they were printed discreetly on the side of the score board, and thus visible as the platform rotated onto the stage. Well done Lisa!! #ThatsWhyIKeepHer #MatchGame

Two days in a row with an upset stomach and I'm wiped. Problem with never getting sick is when you do, you're a big baby, lol. - Lisa
That Was a Bust
Yeah. Our Match Game night . . . did not go as planned.
Family game night ends in a disaster every. Single. Time. #wheredidwegowrong #nomoregames #kidssuck - Lisa

Funeral Music
I'm watching Match Game with LuLu. FYI, I want the Match Game theme played during the viewing at my funeral.
update:
I just got off the phone with my Ma. In reference to my "play the Match Game theme at my funeral" line she told me my paternal Grandma always told her "Remember to tell Mike [Grandpa] I want 'Laura's Theme' played at my funeral."
Did you play it? I asked her.
"Of course," she said.
Subtle Bias, But Bias All the Same
I'm watching a PBS special on James Garfield, and I'm annoyed as hell that on an election map they TWICE switched the standard party colors, making Democrat states red and Republican blue. Given the nature of the 1880 election, this gives the average viewer the impression that the oppressive, violently racist South of the time was Republican, and that the Democratic North saved the day. In fact, the GOP ran on a platform of civil rights and barely out-polled the Democratic former Confederacy. #LeftistAgenda

TV Time with LuLu
I'm watching season one/episode one of Wonder Woman with LuLu
And in the news: On the radio this morning: a report that Amazon has opened its first brick and mortar store, with plans to open 300-400 nationwide. The price of the book on the shelf? Identical to what you'll pay online.

Not My Best
An awful night at Marquette. I got caught daydreaming and flubbed one answer, then f'ed up the retaliatory follow up I should have seen coming. I looked like a gen-u-wine dummy. Plus, having earned her wrath, I imagine I'll be put on the spot by the Prof next class. #ShouldBeFun
