International Cat Day

Happy international cat day!! 😻

Deadly Women

Lisa and I are watchin the true crime show Deadly Women. The woman in the story kills her lover and then, to cover it up, smashes a window and says an intruder did it.

She broke the window from inside the apartment.

What a moron. That's Encyclopedia Brown level criminal sh*t.

Smiley Goes to Camp

There is much to post about Junie's birthday. But before we get to that, I had to leave the party midway through to take Smiley up to camp. I'll miss the only other male in this estrogen factory, but he'll have a blast!

Michael Phelps

Today the great Michael Phelps won his 19th gold medal and 23rd Olympics medal overall as the U.S. won the 4x100 relay. Congrats!

Happy Birthday!

Happy 9th birthday to my baby doll angelcakes honey bunches of oats. Before she went to bed she made sure to hold my hand one last time as an eight year old, and give me one last hug, one last kiss, one last raspberry, and one last Eskimo kiss from the last of my eight year old kids. Happy Birthday Junie!

Suicide Squad

I saw this today with Yaya and LuLu.

My verdict? It was very enjoyable and well worth the ticket price. Harley and Deadshot were superb. It easily passed BVS and yes, even the disappointing Civil War. IMO, the critical lashing it's taken is a combination of Marvel being in corporate marriage with multiple media outlets, and a rash of Marvel fanboys typing out a bad review online sight unseen.

Suicide squad. Gc oj

They're Back!

The youngest girls are back from camp! (And the Ols--'s too)

Feels good to have Team Slap all under one roof again. I feel blessed - because I am.

The 1955 Artisan

WhooHoo!

To break out of my plateau, I mixed up my diet plan. For seven days I had no carbs, lots of protein, and kept up on the water and exercise. The result? A whopping *THIRTEEN POINT FIVE* pound loss! Yes, it's correct. I weighed myself four times at the doctor and weighed Parker there for good measure, to test the scale. I was going to celebrate finishing the week by grabbing some French fries but now I'm thinking . . . maybe not! Lol

A Tax Exam

This morning I had a four hour taxation exam that I did not fail. Whether or not I did well is another question. I now get to enjoy a whole three weeks of summer before the semester begins.

Junie's Sculptures

For three weeks Junie has been pushing us to retrieve some pottery she left at College for Kids (UWM had a power outage one day during class and they couldn't use the kiln). The instructor has been writing and texting too. Three weeks, two attempts, parking money, and this is what we get: a lil cupcake, a wedge of cheese, and some berries, all small enough to fit in the palm of my hand lol

A Legitimately Grand Gesture

A Visit with Louise for her Birthday!

After returning from the camp and enjoying an early dinner, Lisa and I went to visit Louise K for her birthday! She looked great and was very alert :)

Dropping the Girls Off at Camp

Today we dropped off two of the girls for week long Girl Scout trips -LuLu to learn the trapeze, and Junie to go horseback riding - taking along, if I'm not mistaken, the cowboy boots Roger J----s gifted a young YaYa for the very same purpose!

The Lucroy Trade

Went to bed impressed by the Lucroy trade to the Indians. Woke up impressed that Lucroy spurned it.

Helping Grandma Move

Team Slap spent most of the day helping Grandma move and unpack her new apartment (she's moved back to her original apartment complex, after being displaced for months by a fire)
