A Star is Born
I saw this today with Lisa at Mayfair and loved everything about it. Lisa was less enthusiastic but still enjoyed it.

Smiley got into MHSA!
Smiley is now enrolled at Milwaukee H.S. of the Arts as a visual art major. Proud he's attending his first choice school, and my alma mater. - Lisa

Peppermint
This was a great action flick. And you know what? It was a woman out whupping a$$, and no one, not even the bad guys, gave her gender a second thought. I'd call that progress.

The Man Who Invented Christmas
Lisa and the kids saw this in the theater last year but I missed out - and boy do I regret it. This was a joyous, charming movie that made me smile from beginning to end. Well done!

Jigsaw
I'm no fan of the Saw movies, which I view as torture porn. Jigsaw was better than most in the series, in that it wasn't completely awful.
Operation Finale
A film about the hunt for Eichmann after the war. It was a good solid movie but lacked a real sense of urgency. Worth a watch all the same.

You Reap What You Sow
Walker froze tuition for years. In return, students overwhelmingly voted for Evers, who promptly raises tuition. Nice job kids.

Netflix pays the big bucks to keep Friends!
Well deserved.
Good on the Bush Family
In contrast to the McCain family, the Bushes have stated they want no political/anti-Trump rhetoric at the funeral. As it should be!

The Tax Bill
RE: the tax bill. In truth, I'd rather cut the bloated budget of our Nanny State, keeping revenue pat, and work down our deficit for a bit. But I don't subscribe to the hysteria about it; in fact that hysteria instinctively leads me to dismiss the charges, an impulse I force myself to ignore.
Three semesters of tax law gives me no special insight, other than I see positives and negatives in the plan (good riddance to the estate tax tho). The bill certainly isn't the end of the world or an "act of evil". That's drivel not worth acknowledging.

Give this Holiday Season
I hope we made her Christmas extra special. If you have a few bucks to spare, pick up a wish list at a local church or store and do the same for a child in need.
