Wouldn't it Tho?

It’d be grand if people who consume creative media daily stopped pretending like there is no market for the work. - YaYa

In Most Cases

When you are young, you rage against the machine. When you get old, you oil the machine. That's how it works.

MPS's Cellphone Policy

Is the new phone confiscation policy just my kid's school or all of MPS?

Note: "Cell phone collection policy" ...IMO in response to student's recording fights and posting ...therefore tarnishing the MHSA/MPS image...which is laughable.

Recomennded!

Better late than never: I forgot to post that this company, as always, did a fantastic job for me last week.

A Great Suprise

Dan surprised me with another Vegas getaway for our Feb anniversary of the night we met at George Webbs. I've never in my life opened a card to flight and hotel booking paperwork. Super exciting first for me. We already make reservations at Hell's Kitchen...can't wait! - Lisa

Bento Xpert

The recent post on Facebook's Milwaukee Foodie group about Meat on the Street inspired my wife and I to check it out, but despite what Google says its storefront inside the food court at 1125 N 9th St was closed today. Rather than waste the trip we dined at the stall next door, Bento Xpert. My wife had the beef brisket plate, served with rice, vegetables, and an optional eggroll. I ordered General Tso chicken, which again came with rice and veggies, but I chose the braised egg as my side.

The food was served on actual plates, tho with plastic cutlery, and two meals and 3 drinks was $26. The chicken was fresh, moist breast meat, and the beef was fall apart tender. The sides were pretty standard fare.
Was it the best food we've ever ordered? No. But was it tasty, well presented casual dining? Yes. Go check it out.

John Madden

I remember him best for a commercial he did for, of all things, a foot fungus medicine: "Boom! Tough Actin' Tinactin!"

That's such a silly thing to remember a man for, much less a man with as varied and influential a career as John Madden. And yet, that dang tagline pops into my head at least once a day.

Madden, of course, was one of the best coaches in the NFL in the 1970's, leading the Raiders to seven division titles and a Super Bowl ring, all while never once posting a losing season. When he retired abruptly and moved to the television broadcast booth in 1979, it was a safe bet that it was a temporary hiatus, a breather before he returned to the sideline.

He remained on TV for 30 years, and in my opinion he was the best to ever do it.

As a broadcaster he never ceased to sound like he enjoyed the game, and he made sure you enjoyed it too.

Then, a third career, as the face and name of the most influential, long lasting video game franchise out there. Madden has become more than a game, or a name, it is a brand

The great John Madden died today at 85.

RIP sir. It is deserved.

Yup

Every time I've heard someone say "I'm a pretty normal person" they turn out to, in fact, not be a pretty normal person.
