Early 2020 is shaping up to be the year of binge watching TV. This docuseries on the infamous Patriots tight end was fascinating. But its impact was somewhat lessened by the inability to explain any motive for his actions, leading to a little too much speculation. Even so, this is well worth watching.

Remains of a World War II pilot recovered near Saint-Lô, France in 2018 have been identified as U.S. Army Air Forces 2nd Lt. William J. McGowan, who was 23 years old when he was shot down on June 6, 1944 during the D-Day invasion.

On my fb feed today was a mom article about how we need to stop saying “I’m fine”. We should live in our truth and communicate it so others feel safe enough to admit their feelings. So we don’t all feel like we’re on our own islands.

Scroll down a bit, “you must cut out negative, toxic people from your life”. Purge the negative people.

Hmmmm so which one is it? For me, you can feel safe to admit, you’re sad, you’re overwhelmed, you wanted to cut your man’s breakline or throat punch your teen. We’re good sis, been there. If you’re negativity starts becoming too much I’ll tell you, but my goal is to never to cut you out.

I recently made a new fb friend and we grew close quickly, his kindness and generosity were clear. However, his negative energy on his page and conflicting politics made me soon unfriend him. He died unexpectedly a week later. I don’t feel good about that. I want to be a soft place to fall even from those I don’t agree with. Before you cut ties, ask yourself if their unexpected death would bring you guilt. If it would, maybe just hide their posts, stop their notifications. Just an idea. - Lisa

 The Mandalorian is every bit as good as the word of mouth suggests, and a whole heap of fun, which is what Star Wars should be, no? Proof positive you don't need Skywalkers to tell a good tale.

Quit Bragging about A War Crime

Assuming no facts not presented here, I think this is, legally, a war crime. Under military law  a crew member parachuting from their damaged plane (as opposed to a paratrooper willingly entering battle) is considered helpless and a non-combatant, and may not be attacked. Abusing that status would, imo, constitute a war crime. At the very least, he would forfeit his own protection under military law. (Photo credit in picture)

33 Years On

Today being the 33rd anniversary of his death, OJ and I stopped by to visit my Big Grandpa. I humbly apologized to him for her piercings and hair, explaining that it was just a phase and that Americans born after me were a little "off." (just kidding!)
